A new day in sight!
We had as J put it 'the bestest time at the farm'-thanks cousin Simon!!!
What an action-packed weekend. Here's the oldest three getting a motorbike lesson...
...and then we were off, hooning around the farm, Choppy loving riding up front and often f=a=s=t with Simon
No Sydney prices in the country either!! On Friday night we went to the local RSL -$44 for all 8 of us to pile up our plates as many times as we wanted for dinner and dessert
And I have to show-off!!!!! We had target practice and I got 7/7 shots on the tin-couldn't believe it myself!
Saturday night- oh my goodness...the first AND LAST time Miss E and I ever want to go hunting.I understand rabbits etc multiply rapidly and are considered pests on the farm-but awww their lil lives and faces in the spotlight...next time we'll stay home and stoke the fire
On the 4 hour drive there an back we had our own mini 'Shout conference' in the car-Thanks for the CD's mum. We loved Reggie Dabb's 'Move' message and singing "I can, you can, we can, I got your back"
An awesome time. Simon so funny and fantastic with the kids, such a giving guy! The kids really enjoyed getting to know Simons boys too-fun times playing 'Wii Sports' and teasing each other about "Chelsea Bedwet' and 'Geneveve Salsberry'
Miss E the bikkie
Last weekend I thought to myself how great it would be to take the kids on a farmstay
10 minutes later my long lost cousin (who I haven't seen in 9 years) phones and half an hour later is at our place with his 2 boys
AND this weekend: we're at their farm in Qurindi!! The boys so pumped for all that's in store tomorrow...
God care and attention to even the musings of my heart just incredible!

Miss E and I were having such a crazy time cooking spagetti tonight...mainly laughing at all the silly things I've been doing today: getting names and words all mixed up, spilling more than one thing, flooding the laundry etc :)
So we declared it "Silly Spagetti Night! A good stategy for getting the boys out of the kitchen as well-O the noise and energy! Off they went to dress...
Yep (Head nodding) that's toilet rolls in a bra...
AND hopefully clean undies on his head?!
Gosh they're silly!!!!
Not behaviour I want happening everytime we now have spagetti...
But lots of fun and laughs tonight!
Yesterday I sat eating my chicken wrap... BLOWN AWAY when i read this in the Daily Telegraph: (The kids and I only just watched the 'Indescribable' DVD again on Easter Sunday!)
"We've already seen pictures of His eye:
Now we have the first image of the hand of God..."
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge"- Psalm 19:1&2
5 year old Choppy will often put on the 'Indescribable' DVD (like he did on Sunday morning) as he loves this song below... Put one of your kids on your knee and have a listen!
"YOU ARE AMAZING GOD!"
>>> The i heart revolution <<<
On Saturday I sat the kids down to make a list of activities they can do when we're at home over the holidays...Top of the list: 'Make our own restaurant'
Miss E and Lij first up...& on the menu:
immm totally delicious, a beautiful restaurant with a relaxed feel & incredible food!!!
The bestest Lemon Meringue Pie ever...
We all left happy and very full. Compliments to the chef's and many thanks for a wonderful dining experience :)
Just found this idea...probably for next year now:
Click on the eggs to find out what's inside them...and 'Masked Mommy's' version here
I realised after making plans for Friday night the perfect timing of it all...
BP and I haven't been able to patch up our marriage. In the last week though I've felt really compelled to reconcile our friendship for the kids sake, to move past the issues between us, for them.
We have 4 amazing kids! As parents we're going to be at the same school functions, we'll occasionally need to catch up and chat about them...how great for the children to still have both parents show up and share in their special events. Basically, we need to grow up and die to ourselves now for them!!
I kept pondering this and wondering what to do?! When I was reading my bible on Thursday night the thought came to invite BP to go with the kids and I to Luna Park on Friday night-peaceful about it. A few hours later, I began tossing up the idea in my head and questioning the sense in it...crying out loud to God; "Lord are you in this?!" I turned my head to the TV as I did and at that moment an ad for Luna Park was on. I knew. (& have never seen that ad before!)
We had a great time and the kids were so happy to see us getting on. I was worried that such a night might feed them false hope, but they seem to get it. I explained to the children that even though we're not together anymore, mum and dad are still going to be friends as we have 4 children we BOTH want to be there for, and love heaps!
A day of dying to myself and reconciliation.Thankful for the message of the cross!
What to do with leftovers...
"Get creative!" Kylie Kwong says. She recommends cutting up leftover vegetables and throwing them in a salad or a pasta dish, or cooking them in a stir-fry, sauteing, or even braising or blanching them. Fruit that is spoiling makes great smoothies. Leftover rice is perfect for fried rice: "All you need is onion, eggs, some bacon and soy."
* Freeze leftovers rather than let them go off in the fridge.
* ...soft avocados become guacamole, while old fruit becomes jam, juice or smoothies. For recipe ideas, see lovefoodhatewaste.com
* Cook in bulk. Cook twice as much as you need and freeze the extra portions. This will use ingredients that might otherwise be left over." (Sydney Herald- March)
No I'm not quite there, just pondering this quote:
Julia Roberts:"On a day-to-day basis it's about if you're happy with your life. Someone said; "You wear your face in your life till you're 40, and then you wear your life on your face"
Beautiful lives...My parents (a little further on than 40!) here with my nephew Theo- They shine!!!
And my gorgeous grandparents- still enjoying life and full of beans in their 80's:
I love the warmth, joy and contentment written over all of their faces!
Living well from the inside out-dealing with attitudes of the heart, letting go,forgiving, growing in grace, extending kindness, loving people, enjoying life!
